Options and Equipment

THE VAN:
Began as a standard length (not long or short) model with 4.6 V8 and auto with overdrive. Includes common power and convenience features such as: power windows, locks and mirrors; tilt wheel and cruise control; tinted windows. Plus has optional Ford features such as: front and rear ventilation with vents in the ceiling; Ford alloy wheels; fancy chrome bumpers and upgraded interior and exterior trim;etc

Touring/cruising conversion
When new, this received a package of features that enhance the appearance and function. Includes such features as: large windows with vents; more upgraded interior and exterior trim; rear seat folds flat to lay on; fancy graphics/striping; upgraded interior lighting; etc

MOBILITY
Was converted by an independent mobility specialist shop. Very notably, it was modified to the highest standards, which are established by NMEDA (national medical equipment dealer association) and it has their assurance sticker in the doorjamb. The package of features this van has is in the most capable range of abilities because it enables certain people in wheelchairs to load, drive and unload themselves with no assistance from another person. This is the highest demand for capability that is put on wheelchair vans. It was designed to do this. This list of features includes premium, very desirable and for some folks, necessary, mobility features such as:

* Power side doors: swing open and closed via various switches or wireless remote control

* Power lift: operates with various switches or wireless remote control

* Wireless remote control for the lift and doors

* Various switch locations for lift, plus the remote

* Nicely lowered floor: is not only in the middle of the van (as some are) but it extends into the driver area in front as well. This floor creates sufficient entry clearance and headroom for most folks in wheelchairs.

Ownership

Same family has owned since new

Certified

This vehicle is 'Certified': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis Certification process. A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists. The result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects meets or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory.

Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the Certified program assures. Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic. I refer to these as NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS
