Options and Equipment THE VAN: This began as a Dodge Grand Caravan with 3.3 liter 6 cylinder and automatic with overdrive. It is the 'Sport' model and includes common full power and convenience features plus dual A/C, foglites, wireless remote entry and locks, high-power C.D. stereo with equalizer, factory spoiler on rear hatch, alloys, dark-tint glass and more. THE EXTRAS: This is equipped with the desirable and valuable EZ-LOCK electronic anchor system. With a simple adaptor, this enables you to easily and quickly anchor/ remove most wheelchairs. As you see in the photos, the anchor-plate, wiring and dash control-box is all installed and active. The plate is ready to be positioned as desired. MOBILITY: This is one of only a handful of brands of minivans which are bought from Dodge when brand new by a conversion company and then taken directly to their factory where they are disassembled, heavily modified and then sold through an exclusive dealer network (like a new car being sold at a new car dealership). This was built by Ricon and is called an 'Activan'. A few years ago Ricon became part of the Braun company, who now uses the Activan name (Braun Activan). Braun is surely the undisputed leader in adaptive/mobility equipment. The extensive and wonderfully beneficial and superbly engineered features are: An 8 inch dropped-floor entirely to the dash area, power sliding door, in-floor power ramp, air-operated 'kneeling' suspension for lower ramp angle, easily removable front seats, several floor tracks for versatile anchoring of the chair, dash and exterior key-operated controls and functional running boards with integrated steps. About the in-floor ramp: This is considered by many to be the most desirable method of entry/exit. The entire unit is actually sandwiched below the floor and above a protective body layer. Therefore, although designed to be very serviceable, the ramp is not exposed to debris and damage from underneath. And when retracted, there is zero blockage or intrusion into the passenger area. The benefits of this outstanding system are clear and obvious when you look at the photos. Dimensions, capacity and specifications: Please feel free to email or call me with any such questions. I will gladly assist with anything you wish to know. I have discovered that due to the unique way each person evaluates, measures and expresses their needs, I can be most helpful if we communicate directly.
Was first purchased in Nevada and with the exception of the past 6,000 miles has had only two owners. I bought it from the Trustee for the estate of the last owner. History of Care As is often the case, when I buy such vans from estates they are unable to locate service records. The Carfax report does show several dealer service intervals and miscellaneous care performed. As part of my rejuvenation process, each of my vans has a thorough mechanical inspection and lube service by a professional mechanic. The only item of consequence suggested was to replace the front brakes, which I had them do and are now new. And this has premium Michelin tires with about 85% tread. This van runs, drives and performs as good as it looks... which is excellent. As part of my 'Rick's rejuvenated'' process, each mobility component is inspected, serviced, adjusted and repaired (if needed) by the premium company of our region (Mobility Access Options) which exclusively cares for wheelchair vans.
Carfax Report
Summary Nothing negative or derogatory on the report. Good news: the report indicates many instances of service and care at the dealer. You Might Like To Know... * The MPG numbers for this, as listed on the original window sign, were 18/24 * Similarly equipped Braun Activans are currently priced at $50,000-$55,000. * Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars. Summary of this Gem A very low mile, fully rejuvenated, absolutely immaculate and extensively serviced example of a premium brand (Braun/Ricon) of minivan wheelchair van. And if you have never seen an 'in-floor ramp' you may appreciate the detailed description and photos on my website.
