Options and Equipment

THE VAN: This began as a 1/2 ton standard length model with XLT, upper level trim.  It has 5.8 V8, full power and convenience features, etc.

LUXURY TOURING/CRUISING CONVERSION:  When new, this was converted by a premium conversion company called "Regency".   I took lots of photos in order to help show its very long and beautiful list of features...as well as the amazing rejuvenated condition.  How shall I summarize the many highlights, lets try this:  Exterior has...large picture windows with screens, vents and shades; attractive running boards and wheel opening flares; super sharp stripes and graphics; dark tinted windows; fancy bumpers; front lower valance with built-in fog lights; custom wheels.    Interior has...fancy leather seats;  rear seat adjusts with power for recline and fore/aft; both front seats have full power including lumbar and driver seat has programmable memory; storage bins; lots of real wood trim and bins and shelves; extensive audio features including 10 disc CD changer plus various headphone jacks;  extensive custom lighting throughout.

WOW, this is the most fancy, well equipped and luxurious van I have ever had!

MOBILITY:  When it was a few years old this was converted into a wheelchair van. listed here are those features:

*  Crow River wheelchair lift, which is now a division of industry giant Braun.  This is a single post lift, which was used in order to not block the area behind the passenger seat, as a double post lift would.  Therefore, when this platform is stowed and folded vertically, there is lots of space behind that front passenger seat to allow a person to easily move in and out of it and turn the seat, etc.   You can see this idea in a couple of the photos.

*  Lowered floor in mid area of van, is 6 inches at the rear and 4 in the front.  This 4-6 inches makes a HUGE difference in not only increased headroom when in the middle of the van, but this also translates directly in having about 5 inches more clearance at the entry than a standard van would have. This extra clearance and headroom is enough to accommodate many folks in their chairs and makes interior living MUCH more comfortable for friends and family too.

* Turning seat in front passenger location, which has new cost of about $3,000.  This feature allows for major range of adjustment up and down, fore and aft and most importantly, the ability to turn nearly 180 degrees.  Please see photos

*  Has an EZ-Lock electronic docking station for anchoring a wheelchair without needs for straps.  This is a wonderful feature and new cost is about $1,500. The operation of this is so easy. I would be happy to describe if you want to understand how it works.

Dimensions, capacity and specifications:

Please feel free to email or call me with any such questions. I will gladly assist with anything you wish to know. I have discovered that due to the unique way each person evaluates, measures and expresses their needs, I can be most helpful regarding this subject if we communicate directly.

  History of Ownership

Until about 5 years ago it had the same owner since new.  In the past 5 years it has had 2 or 3 owners.

History of Care

The Carfax report on this one actually shows extensive history of care at major, desirable service shops. Most vehicles don't indicate such quality history on the report.

Certified

This vehicle is 'CERTIFIED': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects  included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis "Certification" process.   A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists.   The  result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects  meets  or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please click here.

Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good, or
satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures.  Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic.  I refer to these as  "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS".  As for this vehicle:

New: oil/lube; wipers; interior lighting serviced; front brakes; front suspension ball joints (smoother ride and more positive control when driving); alignment; front and rear shocks (wow, rides so nice); service wheelchair lift

Recent: tires (they are now about 80% tread); transmission was entirely rebuilt only about 5,000 miles ago

Approximate retail value/cost of above-listed items: $ 4,000

Carfax Report Summary

(Carfax is a widely used database which indicates the history of a vehicle including accidents, prior owners, etc.)

No red or yellow flags, no notable issues

You Might Like To Know...

* Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars.

* Ford vans such as this changed very little over a period of many years.  The first year of this approximate body style was 1992 and they only had incremental, mostly cosmetic changes, until the mid-2000's.  Therefore, given the amazing condition of this van, to the average person it could easily pass for being 1/2 its actual age...or even newer.

Summary of this Gem

Sometimes they say "seeing is believing" and this van deserves that compliment.  And in this case "driving is believing" too.  Please look closely at the photos, because what you see truly is what you get with this van.  It is absolutely immaculate and gorgeous inside and out, just as the photos appear.  And it is equally as nice functionally and mechanically...leading to its "Certified" condition status.  I am very proud to offer this van, which is surely quite a gem.

Gorgeous standard length (not long) body is easy to drive and park

Note:  for several reasons, most major being that it has lowered floor with no spacer-blocks, overall height of this van is the lowest of any full size wheelchair van ever available, at only 79 inches!
