Options and Equipment

THE VAN: This is a well-equipped SE model, with 6 cylinder and overdrive automatic. In addition to the common power and convenience features of power windows, locks, mirrors, tilt wheel and cruise control, it also has such features as: power seat; factory alloys; upgraded interior and exterior trim; CD stereo, and more.

Goodies
Custom stripes; new stereo with accessory port and USB jack

MOBILITY:

When new this was converted by industry giant, Braun. It has a complete lowered floor conversion that includes these primary features:

* Power ramp out the passenger side slider door. This ramp stows vertically in the doorway area and is called a bi-fold ramp

* Power sliding side door. Door and ramp are operated with your choice of either: switches in multiple locations; wireless remote control

* "Kneeling" suspension causes the van to drop several inches lower in the rear, which creates a gentler ramp angle, which makes loading and unloading easier for everyone.

* Deeply lowered floor begins in front of original rear seat, and extends all the way to below the dash. This is smooth, level and firm, which is ideal for wheelchair maneuverability.

* Both front seat assemblies are easily removable in a couple of minutes, if you want or need to park a wheelchair in either front location.

* Slots to insert anchor straps in the floor in many locations, in order to secure a wheelchair.

* Includes 4 manual wheelchair anchor straps

* Has an EZ-Lock electronic docking station for greatest ease of anchoring wheelchair. This is currently mounted under the drivers seat. (please ask about this feature, as there is some investment needed for a next-user, if wanting to utilize this valuable feature)

History of Ownership

NEARLY A ONE-OWNER...with the exception of approximately one year, this van has had only one owner since new.

Certified

This vehicle is 'CERTIFIED': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects  included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis "Certification" process.   A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists.   The  result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects  meets  or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory.

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please click here.

Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures.  Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic.  I refer to these as  "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS".

Here are the new and recent items:

New: Lube and filter; wiper sprayer; supplemental restraint system repair; adjust ramp; slider power door adjust; new power door lock; valve cover gasket; new water pump; flush power steering fluid; new radiator and flush; service kneeling suspension;

Recent: Front brakes; rear brakes; exhaust; battery;

Approximate retail value/cost of above-listed items: $3,000
(extensive investment in cosmetic rejuvenation is in addition to this $3,000)

Carfax Report Summary

(Carfax is a widely used database which indicates the history of a vehicle including accidents, prior owners, etc.)

Nothing notably negative or unusual: no frame damage...no airbags deployed...no structural damage...no "red marks"...no major accident.

* Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars.
* Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager and Chrysler Town & Country are all cousins to each other and share nearly all notable components.

Summary of this Gem

This is a nicely modern wheelchair van, considering this price range, highly rejuvenated condition, warranty included, etc. This body style began in 2001 and went through the year 2007. This is greatly in the sweet-spot for being a very nice wheelchair van at this price range. A few thousand dollars less obtains a lot less van and a few thousand dollars more gets you only a very minimally better van. Therefore, this one is a nice overall value.

Gentle ramp is wide enough for nearly any wheelchair and the angle is nice due to deeply lowered floor and kneeling suspension

Notice the large ledge in front of year seat. That is the obvious indication of the very deeply lowered floor (which creates the entry clearance and interior headroom most folks in wheelchairs need)
Both front seats are on custom “pedestals” that bring them up to the level they would have been before the floor was lowered

3.3 motor is a classic, with plenty of power and good MPG

Spare tires must be carried here, because when the floor is modified there is no space for it underneath. (some folks remove the spare and carry a can or two of flat-fixer, which then creates nearly double the space behind the rear seat)
Simple, classic controls
New CD stereo with USB jack and accessory port
Hand controls and spinner knob are very useful and valuable to some folks, but can be removed by us at no cost if you don't need or want them

This is the control unit for the electronic wheelchair anchoring system that is mounted currently under the drivers seat (prior owner was driving from their wheelchair, using the hand controls)
