Highlights of This Van:

apx. (info soon) of new and very recent mechanical service: details below (extensive investment in cosmetic rejuvenation is in addition to this mechanical service)

* Much of the benefits of a full size van (real frame; nice ground clearance; extra spacious; etc) but with typical minivan aspects of being a 6 cylinder (better MPG) and is a bit smaller and easier to handle than a full size van

* Tall roof and doors create a nice amount of entry clearance and interior headroom

Options and Equipment

THE VAN: This began as a nicely equipped LS model. It has the famously great 4.3 six cylinder Vortec motor and automatic with overdrive transmission for a desirable combo of respectable power and good MPG. Has a long list of standard features and factory or added options such as: power windows, locks, tilt, cruise, stereo with CD and cassette, dual ventilation systems, running boards, alloy wheels, dark windows and much more.

Raised Roof With the moderately contoured cruising/touring style roof having been added, along with the tall doors and corresponding roof notch on the side doors, this has very nice entry clearance and interior headroom that not only is required for some folks in wheelchairs, but it makes going in and out much easier for able bodied folks as well. The ceiling is fully upholstered and has extra lighting in the ceiling, etc.

GOODIES:

MOBILITY:

* This lift was built by the industry giant, Braun. It's easy to use and is controlled with a single switch on a cord. The bi-folding platform is a wonderful feature, which allows for easy passage of folks even when the lift is stowed. Just flip a simple lever and the lift platform swings out of the way, allowing able-bodied folks to go in and out when the lift is stowed. This lift has an official carrying capacity of 400 pounds.

* Has the popular and very desirable feature of an EZ-Lock electronic wheelchair docking station. The control box for it is on the dash. This unit is unbolted from the floor (allowing us to install the new flooring) and is ready to be installed in the location of the new owners choosing. Use of this device eliminates the need for anchor straps.

* has various anchor points in the floor, for securing manual anchor straps

History of Ownership

This has had only two owners. The first was the folks I bought this van from several years ago, when I rejuvenated it for the first time and sold it to a family in Northern California. They only drove it about 10,000 miles and traded it to me toward a van that was configured in a way that better suited them at this time.

Certified

This vehicle is 'CERTIFIED': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects  included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis "Certification" process.   A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists.   The  result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects  meets  or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory.

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please click here.

Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures.  Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic.  I refer to these as  "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS".

Nothing notably negative or unusual: no frame damage...no airbags deployed...no structural damage...no "red marks"...no major accident.

Summary of this Gem

There are not many of this model of van that have been converted into mobility vans. The overall result is quite nice and has a combo of benefits that are found on no other mobility vans. This is a pretty cool van.
