Options and Equipment THE VAN: (Desirable note: this is first year for this improved design which carried until 2003) This van began as an LX model which has the solid 3.8 motor, auto with overdrive. Has comfort and convenience features of: power windows, power rear vents, power locks, tilt, cruise, power seat, power mirrors, front and rear ventilation, CD and cassette, wireless entry; plus more. This van does have a factory option of adjustable pedals which is a very nice feature for many wheelchair van users. THE GOODIES: very attractive custom striping and graphics. MOBILITY: This was special ordered from VMI (made by Ricon) and has an extremely unusual package of features. If you do some shopping and research you would find that minivans with this version of rare package are virtually non-existent. This one was built with simplicity, reliability and versatility in mind. Consider as you read and see the features that VMI is a premier maker of wheelchair minivans and spends enormous amount of money on engineering. Therefore, each of the features is designed to be very user-friendly and reliable. Please see photos and read below: * Has the typical deeply lowered floor with removable front seats and very versatile and numerous possible locations throughout to anchor a wheelchair. * HIGHLY UNUSUAL: Has manual in-floor aluminum ramp, rather than a power ramp. It is very light and an average person can easily bring it in or out with one hand. This provides for zero need for maintenance or any chance for breakdown. Works fine even if battery is dead, or if you run out of gas, etc. * HIGHLY UNUSUAL: Has a middle row of seats which are easily removable as a pair, or remove only one. This allows unsurpassed versatility so that you can carry 7 people if not carrying a person in a wheelchair. And depending on the size of chair or scooter, you may be able to leave one of these middle row seats in and carry a wheelchair. Please look close at the seating photos and consider how this unique arrangement could benefit you and your family. * HIGHLY UNUSUAL: Does NOT have kneeling suspension. Therefore, no pumps, modified kneeling suspension or fancy electronics to be concerned with. Very simple, easy, basic. *** Summary: if you want a lowered floor minivan that is super simple and reliable this is the one to buy. Sure, the minivans with all the power features such as ramps, power slider doors and kneeling suspension are wonderful, for the right person. I sell lots of those. But often I hear from people who are concerned that possibly a van in the sort of age and price range they are looking for may at some point have problems with those fancy features. Yes, realistically those features can and do break. This van has none of those features to deal with. So, if you don't mind having some repair bills and/or if you live in close proximity to a capable shop, the vans with those extra features may be just what you want. However, for reliability, simplicity, ease of operation and low future cost....this van is a great way to go and they are VERY rare. P.S. nearly all of the vans made with this rare package are built for taxi/professional transport companies. NOT this one. It has had one private owner since new! Dimensions, capacity and specifications: Please feel free to email or call me with any such questions. I will gladly assist with anything you wish to know. I have discovered that due to the unique way each person evaluates, measures and expresses their needs, I can be most helpful regarding this subject if we communicate directly. History of Ownership Yes, yippee. This has had one owner since new. Personal use only, no harsh commercial use. History of Care As with each of my vans, this one is in amazing condition and runs, drives and performs fantastic. It was part of an estate circumstance and as is usually the case, when I get a van from and estate it typically does not include records. The families don't seem to end up with those. Please read below for more about the great condition this van is in... Each of my vans receives a detailed (about 75 items) inspection by the general mechanic shop which I consider to be the finest in my area. Then, after discussing their report, I have them do what is needed to repair, replace or service items on the vehicle in order to reach my high standard of overall mechanical condition. This is a major and very valuable element of my "Rick's rejuvenated" process. As a result of the above mentioned process, here is a list of some items which were cared for by the shop I speak of: * Major transmission service * New rear vent window motors (common replacement item as they tend to wear out over time) * New fluids * Wipers In addition: as part of my 'Rick's rejuvenated'' process, each mobility/adaptive component is inspected, serviced, adjusted and repaired (if needed) by a different mechanic, who owns the premium company in this area which exclusively cares for wheelchair vans.
Carfax Report
Summary Nothing negative or derogatory on the report. Shows as a Carfax "one owner" You Might Like To Know... * Awesome NEWS: Here is a quote from an online review I found: ""The 2002 Windstar (virtually same as 2001) was the most dependable Minivan on the market in the JD Powers dependability survey at three years in service in the 2005 survey. The Windstar beat out the Toyota Sienna and the Honda Odyssey for these honors"" (( WOW! )) * Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars. Summary of this Gem This is a one owner with personal use history (no harsh professional use) and it is sharp. Here you see a van that was special ordered with a package focused on reliability, simplicity and ease-of-use. And the other very unique feature... please look closely at the photos to see the VERY rare feature of separately removable middle row seats.
