Options and Equipment

THE VAN:
This began as a half ton with moderate size V8 (5.9/360) auto with overdrive and common power and convenience features such as: power windows, locks and mirrors; tilt wheel and cruise control; chrome wheels; chrome bumpers and grill; stereo; etcetera

Touring/cruising conversion

When this van was new a major, national-brand company, named Mark-3, converted this van. At that time it received an extensive package of luxury and convenience features such as: moderately tall, contoured roof; functional running boards with integrated wheel opening flares; large picture windows with vents; much real wood interior trim; various interior and exterior upgrades to appearance and cosmetics; and more. During our rejuvenation process we added/created much new interior

MOBILITY

*When it was a few years old, this van had the lift added in the side door area. It uses power features to go up/down and in/out and has a 600-pound capacity. Very notably, this lift is a very helpful style, because it power-folds into 3 parts when stowed, allowing able-bodied folks easy passage in and out of the van when the lift is stowed.

* Tall doors: this feature is hard to find as it is only on a small percentage of personal-use wheelchair vans. This feature of tall doors and corresponding roof-notch is awesome for all users as it makes going in and out much easier, and for some folks in wheelchairs this feature is a "must have".

* Special floor project was new a few hundred miles ago: this has what is one of my favorite improvements on wheelchair vans, which is very helpful to the person in the wheelchair and able-bodied folks as well. I consider this feature to be an improvement that most wheelchair vans ought to have, old or new. You see, if you pay close attention to how floors typically are in personal use wheelchair vans, you will notice that they are usually not actually solid, smooth and level. Rather, they are somewhat lumpy, bumpy and not as easy to maneuver a wheelchair on as they can be. This is because the factory metal floor of a van is not actually smooth, it has ridges and contours...plus has a carpet pad which wheelchair wheels sink into a bit, creating resistance to maneuvering. Based on my specifications and design, this floor was greatly improved above the original floor treatment by removing the existing carpet and pad, from the front seats all the way to the rear, and then installing wood directly over the lumpy, bumpy, contoured metal floor. And so it became a smooth, solid, level floor. Then, quality, commercial vinyl flooring was used to cover the wood. This material is tough and easy to clean. This van has this new flooring package, which notably improves the interior function and livability of the van for everyone.

* Has what we call a custom "flip and fold" seat: toward the rear, this can seat two people, or it can flip up and be mostly out of the way to create a super area for maneuvering and/or parking the wheelchair. This special seat creates enough open floor space that a twin inflatable bed could be used to sleep or lay on, if desired, with enough space to also park the wheelchair.

* Currently has 2 anchor points installed in the floor that are located to accommodate parking a wheelchair somewhat in the middle of the floor area. We will include 2 more new anchor point kits that can be installed nearly anywhere in the floor are the buyer chooses.

* Includes 4 anchor straps for securing the wheelchair

Ownership

Was owned for most of its life by only two different owners.

Certified

This vehicle is 'Certified': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis Certification process. A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists. The result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects meets or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory.

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please

Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the Certified program assures. Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic. I refer to these as NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS
