Options and Equipment

THE VAN: This began as the most highly-equipped model of Caravan, called an ES, plus it has a notable factory-equipped "Sport" package also.  The ES and Sport combined causes it to have a very long list of features, such as: special pearl white paint; extremely rare and nifty "Autostick" automatic transmission; upgraded interior and exterior trim features; upgraded 3.8 liter engine; dual heat and A/C; power seat; ABS; traction control; fog lights, fancy 'Infinity' CD/Cassette sound system; color-matched roof rack; hand painted pin stripes;  spoiler on rear hatch; and much more

GOODIES:  Custom wheels

MOBILITY:  This was converted when brand new by one of the two giant companies which convert most of the lowered floor wheelchair vans.  This was made by VMI, a division of Ricon.  It has a very full compliment of features including:

  * Deeply lowered floor

* Easily removable front seats

* Drivers seat has a special base (cost about $3,000) which allows it great flexibility to go far up, far back and forward and also it turns almost 90 degrees.  This base is designed to allow some folks in wheelchairs to transfer, allowing them to drive from the regular seat.  This entire seat assembly can also be removed if you want to drive from wheelchair

* Power sliding door

* Bi-fold power ramp with 'gate feature' which allows the ramp assembly to swing nearly 90 degrees, allowing friends and family to easily move in and out of the van, when ramp is stowed.

*  Kneeling suspension

* Extensive choices as to where to anchor the wheelchair

* Has quality brand and style of hand controls

* Wireless remote control, plus several locations of switches for operating door/ramp/kneel

History of Ownership

Has had one owner since new!  Most wheelchair vans tend to change owners every few years, but not this one.  The man who owned it custom-ordered it when new, when he was a mid-level manager for IBM.

History of Care

I do have some receipts and extensive servicing is/was detailed on numerous occasions on the Carfax report.

Certified

This vehicle is 'CERTIFIED': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects  included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis "Certification" process.   A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is that each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third-party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists.   The  result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects  meets  or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please click here.

Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good, or
satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures.  Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic.  I refer to these as  "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS".  As for this vehicle:

New:  wipers; coolant hoses; lube/oil/filter; cooling flush; misc light bulbs and other misc; water pump; serviced various mobility components

Recent: fuel pump system; major tune-up; trans service; serpentine belt; clean injectors; front brakes; front tires

Approximate retail value/cost of above-listed items: $ 3,500

Carfax Report Summary

(Carfax is a widely used database which indicates the history of a vehicle including accidents, prior owners, etc.)

Nothing out of the ordinary....no 'red flags', nothing derogatory.

You Might Like To Know...

* Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars.

* This dodge Caravan is essentially the same as a Plymouth voyager and Chrysler Town & Country

Summary of this Gem

As with each of my vans, this has been extensively rejuvenated cosmetically and mechanically, resulting in the fact that it is now beautiful and fantastic in every way and is "Certified".  As for features: this equals the mostly highly-equipped lowered floor minivan I've ever offered.  And it is a one-owner with low miles...this is an exceptional van in every way.
