1995 Chevy Astro is an incredibly rare ALL WHEEL DRIVE wheelchair van
(mobility conversion components will be new or recent)
MILES 58,000 (CarFax verified)
Price: $13,900

Note
This will however ONLY accommodate users with low demand for entry clearance and interior headroom. This is because it will not have a lowered floor or tall roof. If you must have all-wheel-drive or 4x4, and you don't need a lot of space from floor to ceiling, this will be an awesome and incredibly rare wheelchair van.

This will receive some cosmetic upgrades during its rejuvenation process

General Description
This is a well-equipped CS model with common power and convenience features such as: power windows, lock and mirrors; tinted windows; tilt wheel and cruise control. It also has many options such as: rear ventilation; power drivers seat; 3-way rear gate/hatch system; upgraded stereo, upgraded interior and exterior trim, etcetera.

About Mobility and Adaptive Features
This van was traded to me toward a wheelchair van. It was an entirely unmodified, "normal" van when it was traded to me. There are professional shops now doing various steps to convert this into a wheelchair van. Here is a description of what features it will contain when completed and ready for sale:

* Very special lift: this will receive the most modern style of lift, which will be installed in the rear hatch/gate area. This is a lift that is only a few years old, with very limited use thus far. It will be power operated and will lift a person and their wheelchair in and out, smoothly and safely.

* Custom floor project: this will have what is one of my favorite improvements on wheelchair vans, which is very helpful to the person in the wheelchair and able-bodied folks as well. I consider this feature to be an improvement that most wheelchair vans ought to have, old or new. You see, if you pay close attention to how floors typically are in personal use wheelchair vans, you will notice that they are usually not actually solid, smooth and level. Rather, they are somewhat lumpy, bumpy and not as easy to maneuver a wheelchair on as they can be. This is because the factory metal floor of a van is not actually smooth, it has ridges and contours...plus has a carpet pad which wheelchair wheels sink into a bit, creating resistance to maneuvering. Based on my specifications and design, this floor was greatly improved above the original floor treatment by removing the existing carpet and pad, from the front seats all the way to the rear, and then installing wood directly over the lumpy, bumpy, contoured metal floor. And so it will become a smooth, solid, level floor. Then, quality, commercial rubber-like flooring will be used to cover the wood. This material is tough and easy to clean. This van will have this new flooring package, which notably improves the interior function and livability of the van for everyone.

* Will have a custom "flip and fold" seat: in the apx middle of the van, along one side of the wall area. This can seat two people, or it can flip up and be mostly out of the way to create a nice open floor area for maneuvering and/or parking the wheelchair.

* Will include 4 anchor points, ready for installation in the location of your choice

* Will include 4 anchor straps for securing wheelchair.

Note: See photos below for example photos that are of an Astro we sold a couple of years ago that has a great similarity to how this van will be when completed.

Summary
I receive many inquiries per year from folks who need a 4x4 or AWD wheelchair van, for under $20,000. I rarely have one, nor does anyone else. If the distance from floor to ceiling can suit you, this will be an awesome and extremely rare wheelchair van. With a fresh mobility conversion and amazingly low miles, this van will be special, even though it is from the 90’s.

Dear Rick... I want to take this time to let you know how excited I am about the 95 Ford camping van that I bought from you. I just love it!! I truly appreciated your kindness, patience and understanding throughout the whole process. I also appreciate the quality of the van. You were nothing like those typical car salesman. You were friendly, cheerful and not pushy....and still gave me a great deal!!! I will certainly send folks your way.

Thanks again!
